Jesus the Master Teacher

Jesus, the Master teacher, was not the type of preacher many today wish He was. The people of His day assumed as many do today that He would tell them what they wanted to hear, that He would never condemn the sincere seeker. Yet, the 4 gospel accounts picture an entirely different picture of the one who came to bring a sword and not peace (Matthew 10:34). Like He condemned the Jews of transgressing God’s Law with the man-made traditions, so Jesus would do the same today. Each denomination having created their own church manual containing the creeds or confessions they hold to, rather than simply following the gospel.

Jesus said, “In vain do they worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men” (Matthew 15:9). Did you hear what Jesus said? By holding to man-made doctrines rather than God’s commandments found in the New Testament, your worship is vain – worthless, pointless, not recognized by God. We, like Jesus wish you would stop your vain worship, and obey the gospel so that your worship will have meaning and your prayers heard (John 9:31). Question: IF it is true that one church is as good as another, and doctrine does not matter, then why is it the case that denominational preachers are not swapping pulpits? Why are members not attending different churches each week? Because you know that it is not true that one church is as good as another, and your doctrine does matter to you.

What you should really be considering, is does GOD’S doctrine matter to me? The doctrine He has recorded in the New Testament. Because only GOD’S doctrine can save and direct us to the right path that leads to eternal life. No church manual, catechism, statement of faith or confession can do that. But that is what you have been following and believing, whether you know it or not. Your church manual or discipline does not teach what is found in God’s word. If they did, then why the need to repeat what is found in Scripture? We are only trying to encourage you to think for yourself; to reason. Is it logical to have two books that teach the same thing? No, it is not. Did not God warn that we should never add to or take away from HIS WORD (Revelation 22:18-19)? Yet that is exactly what has happened with the addition of manuals, disciplines, confessions, and the like, is it not?

Stop being blind followers of blind leaders (Matthew 15:14). Is it scary to think that you might have been lied to all these years? Absolutely, been there, done that. But we were honest enough with ourselves to admit our mistake and make the change. How about you? Are you as honest about wanting the truth and you think you are? Are you willing to take a chance and do some research to find out who is telling you the truth? We are always available to assist you in your search.
